So, Here We Are...

Day 1. What to say, what to say. Welcome to my little corner of the Internet. I was recently inspired by the film, 'Julie & Julia' to begin a blog as I start my cooking journey - albeit, nothing to same degree as what Julie Powell took on with 500+ recipes in a year - to come along with me as I learn and fail, and learn and accomplish over the course of unbeknownst time. I've always been a very limited cook in the kitchen, but have always been inspired by the famous chefs and via shows and books. My number one inspiration, without a doubt, is Anthony Bourdain. 'Kitchen Confidential' remains at the top of my list of epic reads in my life.


I'll be sourcing from a couple different books - the first that I'm currently working from is Mark Bittman's "How to Cook Everything". I'm also subscribed to Rouxbe.com's online cooking school.


My goal with this site is to present the progress (and pitfalls) with each new dish, sort of a crumb trail for myself and possibly (er, hopefully?) good entertainment for the bored folks out there in Internetland.
